The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Inside scoop Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Windgardium Leveosa not Leveoooosa !

Come get whisked away with me on my magical adventure visiting Harry Potter world at Universal Orlando! Arrive early, and beat the crowds. January is an ideal time to go because holidays are over and crowds are minimal (Hallelujah!).

Y’all this is the real deal, I’m so nerded out! I can’t figure out what I’m more excited for the butterbeer or taking a quest on the Hogwarts Express…

Heading through the castle gates we stepped into the alternate universe of Hogsmede.  The snow-capped village is already buzzing with “muggles” trying out their wands from Olivanders wand shop. Wandering about the village you’ll spot The Daily Prophet, Three Broomsticks, and the one and only Honeydukes (nom nom!) to grab some sweet treats!!

Rounding the corner you spot Hogwarts castle and all its glory! If your lucky you’ll arrive just in time for the entertainment of the Frog Choir the acapella group singing in hopping good harmony.

Snap some quick shots in front of this enchanted castle, down your butterbeer (your first of many), practice some spells, and head inside to the Forbidden Journey!

I have to give it to Universal ( shout out ) they do an amazing job recreating a picturesque experience and even their staff is in character with lots of knowledge of Hogwarts and adorable British accents.

As you continue to walk through the castle, grab your broomstick and get ready to take flight! This magical ride has you meet up with Harry and his friends and soar high above the castle for a thrilling adventure.

All Aboard! Get your ticket punched by the station guard and board the Hogwarts Express over to London with a park to park pass!(worth it!) I was giddy as the steam engine locomotive pulled into the station, it was a vision…. looking JUST like the traditional one in the movies. The crew then loaded us in our cabins and we embarked on our next journey!

Cheerio!
Step off the platform and enter Kings Cross Station into London!

The quirky Knight Bus conductor and his talkative friend will greet you, and gladly snap a photo with you and their famous giant triple-decker purple bus. Unfortunately you will have to rely on your own wizarding skills to navigate to Diagon Alley, as this is a secret kept from muggles!

Oh Diagon Alley…..”I solemnly swear I’m up to no good”! First stop, Wesaley’s shop full of mischief and tricks and many collectables.

Next, before facing any dragons at Gingots we head over to the Leaky Cauldron for dome bangers n’ mash and Fish n’ chips to fuel up.

Taking butterbeer #2 from the trolly with us we explore Borgan & Burkes among other unique shops full of trinkets, quittich brooms, and interactive wands. Let me just tell you make sure you aren't dressed like a muggle... you will stick out without your house cape or dobby the elf ears.. these wizards mean serious business...

Jumping in line under the fire-breathing dragon (yeah for real) for the Harry Potter Escape from Gringots Bank is not like anything you expect.

You feel as if you’re right in the movie with Goblins eyeing you as you stroll thorough the stunning marble bank and winding down the cavernous underground. Let me just tell you BEST RIDE EVER…ascending through the underground vaults and fighting off he who must not be named. This exhilarating quest will have you wanting to go back again and again…

This is my “Ive lost count of all the butterbeers face”

Lastly, as the day winds down head back to platform 9 ¾ to undergo a much different experience. The excursion now takes you along the British Countryside en route back to Hogsmede.

After dealing with the muggles all day an fighting of Voldemort, wrap up your time having a pumpkin potion or yet another butter beer at the Hogs Head and swoop by the dazzling castle all lit up on your way out!

Would love to hear any experiences/recommendations y’all have experienced!
